Art and FlowersStanmore students visit the Art Gallery and Botanical GardensYesterday 3/4W, 4B, 3F and 2/5S went to the Art Gallery of NSW and the Royal Botanical Gardens. First 3F and 3/4W went to the Art Gallery and 4B and 2/5S went to the Royal Botanical Gardens.
After that we walked around the opera house and we watched this
show. When the show finished we went to catch a train back to
Stanmore. We went to music.
Yesterday we went to the Art Gallery of NSW by train. The first
artwork we saw with our guide was called "From a distant land" and
it was about a man who had received bad news in a letter. The second
one we saw was the only war painting in the gallery. After that we
went to the Royal Botanical Gardens and had recess there. Then we
went to the waratah gallery and saw waratahs. Then we went to the
succulent garden. After that we walked to the Opera House and saw
some dancers and then we went home on the train.
In the Art Gallery I saw a painting called Five Bell. It is called Five Bell because when a sailor dies they ring the bell five times. After we went to the Art Gallery 3F and 3/4W went to the Gardens.
There was a sign that said Please Walk On The Grass. Smell The
Roses, Hug the Trees etc. We saw the Wollemi pine.

When we got to the Art Gallery we put our bags in a basket and we
got in groups, all the year 4s were in a group. Our guide was called
Louise. We looked at the only war picture in the Gallery. After that
we went to some other pictures and then we went to the Royal
Botanical Gardens. When we got there we had recess and then we went
to look at lots of old plants and lots of new plants. After that we
went to look in the cactus and succulent garden. We looked at lots
of cactus plants.
