Common Ground Festival
On the 25th of November, 500 people walked around and
around the stalls asking about the prices of things and buying
things from 12.00 till 5.00pm.
The
games were alright but didn't attract a crowd as big as last
year. Stanmore tried new games such as Whack-a-Rat and Try to Get
the Ball through the hole three times so you can win something and
flip a coin onto a chart but they still failed to get any attention.
The school had to resort to the big inflatable slide and jumping
castle. Fortunately they were one the biggest hits for the fair.
That took care of all the kids. As for the adults, the stage took
care of them. With choirs to a chocolate wheel, the stage provided
top quality entertainment.
Now for the food. Almost every kid there had bought a sno-cone and for
only $1.00 why wouldn't you. The fairy floss was pretty good too.
And now last of all, the stuff you could buy. There were clothes
and books. That's all I noticed.
There was one more thing, the stuff you could make. There was the
candle making place and the card-making place. Well that's about
it. Everyone had fun whether they came to eat, be amused, buy stuff
or just play around. It wasn't as good as last year but it was pretty
good fun anyway.

The 25-10-00 was the date of the Common Ground Festival, which 500 people attended.
There was a jumping castle, a big slide, food stalls, drink
stalls, games and I played in the band. Also the Junior band played
as well as the choir.
I went on the slide about 8 times and the jumping castle once. I
got heaps of sno-cones.
I later had a war with throw-downs. The teams were Rhimi, Liam,
BH and Luke versus myself, Remy, Nicky, Sam, Nii-Ayitey and Mat. We won
on surrender.
It was a great day at the Common Ground
Festival. It was better than last year!

On the 25th of November, Stanmore Public School held
the Common Ground Festival. It contained many fun things, such as a
blow-up slide, jumping castle, make a candle, make a card and many
other fun things. There were also refreshment stalls, like fairy
floss, popcorn and sno-cones. There were two white elephant
stalls.
When I arrived at 12.30 I sent to see if any of my friends were
there. I found Lizzie, she was making a greeting card. I followed
her around for a while until 1.00 then I went to practise in the
band.
At 1.30 I performed in the band. The band played Power Rock, On
Broadway, The Great Gate of Kiev, Lets Go Bard II, Mambo No.5 and a
few more pieces.
After the band I went on the slide and got a scab on my elbow. I
went on the slide two more times after that and also went on the
jumping castle.
I didn’t get to see many performances, but I had a great time. I
think the Common Ground Festival of 2000 was pretty good.

This year the Common Ground Festival was great! I especially
liked the slide! I went on it 5 times, except the down-side was
climbing up the ladder to get to the top. But it was all worth
it!
You could get an arm band tag for unlimited rides. I also made a
candle and a card. The card cost 80 cents and the candle cost
$5.
The performances were great. The Senior Band was great. No wonder
they took such a long time to practice. Nicky Chiswell and Naomi
starr were excellent singers as well as the Junior Band and the
choir. The chocolate wheel was great! I got jealous of all the
people who won.
The boys bought throw-downs or pop-pops and were throwing them at
everyone. It got annoying after awhile. Some people from high school
had water bombs and you couldn’t get in or out of the girls toilet
without getting wet! Other than that the Common Ground Festival was
GREAT!
